PARENT COORDINATOR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What time does the regular school day start and end?
A: School begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 2:20 PM. Breakfast is served in the classroom so please be sure your child arrives on time if they need to eat breakfast.
Q: What would be a good time to meet with my child’s teacher?
A: Teachers are available during their daily prep period to meet with parents by appointment only. To schedule an appointment with your child’s teacher, contact the teacher directly, the Parent Coordinator or School Secretary. Teachers are also available to meet virtually during our weekly "Parent Time" and can be scheduled by reaching out to your child's teacher directly.
Q: How will I be informed of days off from school/ special events?
A: A calendar of events is sent home to parents each month to inform them of events and days off. The same information is available in the calendar on the school homepage and will be shared on our facebook, instagram, and class dojo pages as well.
Q: Is it mandatory that my child wear the uniform to school?
A: It is strongly preferred that all students come to school in uniform. School uniforms can be purchased at Cookie's Kids. See the parent coordinator for coupons.
Q: How can I contact my Parent Coordinator?
A: During school hours the Parent Coordinator can be reached at (718)583-0662 extension 229. Please leave a message if the Parent Coordinator is unavailable and she will return your call as soon as possible. Q: What should I do if I want to have a birthday party for my child at school?
A: If you would like to have a birthday party for your child at school, you must first contact the Parent Coordinator or Principal for approval. Parents may choose to drop things off or come in person, if vaccinated.
Q: If I have a problem with my child or one of my child’s teachers what should I do?
A: We would be glad to address any problems you may have. Please first contact the Parent Coordinator (as described above), Assistant Principal, or Principal and a meeting may be scheduled with appropriate school personnel.
